Food For The Poor (FFTP) es una de las organizaciones de ayuda y desarrollo internacional más grandes de los Estados Unidos
Nuestro trabajo está motivado por nuestra fe en Dios, esparciendo Su amor incondicional hacia todas las personas, independientemente de su raza, estatus o credo, mientras servimos a quienes viven con necesidades urgentes en la región de Latinoamérica y el Caribe.
Al suministrar alimentos que salvan vidas, viviendas seguras, agua limpia, atención médica, ayuda de emergencia, apoyar proyectos de microempresas y facilitar oportunidades educativas, estamos dándoles a las personas en situación de extrema pobreza la oportunidad de un futuro mejor, al tiempo que les mostramos el amor de Dios. Food For The Poor se fundó en 1982, en Jamaica. Actualmente, nuestra organización cristiana interdenominacional sirve a personas en situación de pobreza principalmente en 17 países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe. Gracias a nuestros fieles donantes, podemos proporcionar alimentos, vivienda, atención médica, educación, agua potable, ayuda de emergencia, soluciones para microempresas y mucho más.
Nos sentimos orgullosos de haber alimentado a millones de personas y entregado más de 15.7 mil millones de dólares en ayuda.
Nuestra fe nos inspira a ser una organización basada en la compasión y motivada por el amor. Nuestra misión es llevar alivio quienes viven en medio de la pobreza más extrema en los países donde servimos.
Nos esforzamos por reflejar el amor incondicional de Dios. Un amor de sacrificio que abraza a todas las personas, independientemente de su raza o de su religión. Creemos firmemente que podemos mostrar Su amor sirviendo aun al “más pequeño” de nuestros hermanos en esta tierra, tal como nos lo pide Cristo en Mateo 25:31-46. Oramos para que, por la gracia de Dios y con el apoyo de gente como usted, podamos continuar llevando alivio a las personas que sufren y esperanza a quienes sienten que la han perdido.
MISIÓN DE FOOD FOR THE POOR
Nuestra misión es vincular a las iglesias del Primer Mundo con las iglesias del Tercer Mundo de una manera que ayude tanto a los materialmente pobres como a los pobres de espíritu.
Los materialmente pobres son servidos por iglesias, cleros y líderes laicos locales que han sido empoderados y provistos de recursos por FFTP.
Los pobres de espíritu son renovados por su servicio hacia quienes viven en la pobreza material a través de nuestra misión directa de enseñanzas, estímulo y oración.
En definitiva, nos proponemos guiar tanto a benefactores como a beneficiarios hacia una unión más estrecha con nuestro Señor.

FFTP es el instrumento de Dios para ayudar a los materialmente pobres y renovar a los pobres en espíritu.
Nuestra organización es un reflejo del amor incondicional de nuestro Señor, un amor que lo entrega todo, que inspira confianza y fe, y que abraza a todas las personas, independientemente de su raza, estatus o credo.
También está modelada por nuestra convicción de que Cristo está vivo y de que podemos servirlo directamente sirviendo las personas más necesitadas. (Mateo 25:40)
Ponemos énfasis en la necesidad de orar cotidianamente para guiar y mantener la pureza de nuestra misión. A través de la más humilde entrega, del servicio y de la oración, procuramos una unión más estrecha con nuestro Señor.
