They anticipate the day for months. Like children waiting for Christmas, the orphans Food For The Poor’s Angels of Hope (AOH) program supports bubble with excitement over their upcoming Day of Celebration. They constantly talk about the day, ask questions about it and dream about the fun-filled affair.
Food For The Poor’s Day of Celebration brings together children from AOH homes across Latin America and the Caribbean for an all-day event filled with sports, cultural dances, music and other festivities. These celebrations are held on different dates in each country, but the results are always the same… laughter, fun and the joys of childhood. This year was no different, as evident from photos taken at the El Salvador, Guyana and Jamaica celebrations (photos above and below).
Most of these children have troubled pasts, having suffered abuse or neglect. Many have been abandoned. For little ones who have endured so much at an early age, a day filled with pure frivolity and joy is a tremendous blessing — a blessing you help provide.
